Join a Committee: Make AALT a Better Organization

Interested in volunteering but not sure of the time commitment?

Want to be more involved in your association but not sure what each committee does and is responsible for?

Considering a position with the Board of Directors but want to find out what they do?

Here are the various AALT committees that you can serve on. To find out what is required of the AALT Board or Directors, visit the AALT Board Position Descriptions page. Awards Committee
Serves under the President-Elect and helps to choose the award recipients for the next AALT Conference.

Conference Committee
Serves under the Conference Chair to help plan organize and run the next conference.

Journal Committee
Serves under the Journal Editor and helps to find articles and advertising for the AALT Technician.

Marketing Committee
Serves under the Marketing Director and helps to promote AALT through memorabilia, articles in the AALT Technician, the AALT Web page, listserv as well as other library listservs.

Membership Committee
Serves under the Membership Director and helps update the membership list as well as help prepare the directory and send out renewal mailing notices, welcome packets to new members, and reviews the membership categories and fees.

Membership Survey Committee
Serves under the Membership Director and helps to produce the membership survey as well as evaluate the results.

Mentoring Committee
Serves under the Member-at-Large Director and helps to coordinate the mentoring program for AALT.

Nomination Committee
Serves under the President-Elect and helps to recruit members willing to serve on the next board for the Annual AGM.

Programs North and Programs South Committees
Serve under the appropriate director and help to organize program sessions for AALT.

Salary Survey Committee
Serves under the Membership Director and helps to produce and send out the salary survey as well as compile the results.

School Library Committee
Serves under the direction of the Board of Directors to develop a plan of action in regards to the school library issues in Alberta.

Web Site Committee
Serves under the Web Site Director and helps to manage, maintain and update the AALT Web site in order to promote AALT.
