The idea for the AALT Mentoring Program was created during the 1992-1993 year and was officially launched in 1994. In 1996 – 1997, the Mentorship Program became the responsibility of the Member-at-Large. As an ongoing project, it was continually being revised. Historically, the goal of the Alberta Association of Library Technicians (AALT) Mentoring Program was to promote the Library Technician profession and the library field in general. The program partnered an interested individual with a Library Technician. The Library Technician served as a friend, advocate, academic supporter, a role model, an agent of occupational enrichment, and/or an information resource. The AALT Mentoring program is currently being revamped to facilitate a more methodological approach to partnering. If you have comments about the program, or would like to volunteer, please contact the Member-At-Large through our Contact Form. We look forward to providing an even more valuable mentoring service in the future! Page Last Updated: July 11, 2008 |
