AALT has a number of liaisons to support Library
Technicians, the AALT Membership and students in library education programs.
Educational Advisory Committees
AALT is on the advisory committees for Grant
MacEwan College and the
Southern Alberta Institute of
Technology (SAIT) providing input into
the programs of instruction for Library Technicians in Alberta.
Cross Country Library Technician Connection (CCLTC)
Thanks to current technology and shared concerns, since 2003 there has
been an attempt to establish and build connections between the various
library technician organizations across Canada. A representative of each
of the provincial organizations, as well as the Library Technician Interest
Group of the national Canadian Library Association, are now part of an
informal email distribution list. Some goals of this group include having
a national voice for library technicians and the ability to provide
accurate statistics and information about the library technician profession
both from a provincial perspective as well as a national one.
Strategic Alliance
for Library Advocacy (SALA)
This group came together in it's current form through AALT's association
with The Alberta Library (TAL). Formerly the TAL Standing Committee
on Advocacy, SALA strives to provide one provincial voice on the shared
concerns
of library organizations. The Strategic Alliance for Library Advocacy
is a partnership between AALT, the Library Association of Alberta (LAA),
the Alberta
Library
Trustees
Association (ALTA),
the Alberta Association of College Libraries (AACL), and TAL .
Programming partnerships
AALT frequently cooperates with other library associations to make great
continuing education programs to our members.
